We are beaming with pride as we celebrate our talented students who recently graced the stage alongside the prestigious Cleveland Ballet in their enchanting rendition of The Nutcracker. This stunning production, choreographed by Timour Bourtasenkov, the company's renowned Artistic Director, ran from December 13-22 at Playhouse Square’s Connor Palace and featured several of our very own dancers in key roles. Auditioning and performing with a company as esteemed as the Cleveland Ballet is no small feat, and our students rose to the occasion with incredible professionalism and artistry.

Special congratulations to Sean Detwiller, who delivered an outstanding performance as The Prince. As highlighted in Steve Sucato’s review of the production, “Transitioning from the battle to the first act’s closing Snow Scene, the Nutcracker is transformed into the flesh and blood Nutcracker Prince, portrayed by Detwiller, a promising young dancer from Center Stage Dance Studio in Northfield." Sean’s dedication and talent truly shone, earning him well-deserved praise.

We are also immensely proud of our Ballet teachers, Ms. Theresa and Mr. Bruno, who not only guided our students through this journey but also took on several main roles in the production. Their performances were truly inspiring and showcased the caliber of artistry that defines our studio.

It was heartwarming to see so many CSDS families in the audience, supporting our performers and celebrating the arts together.
This year’s Nutcracker was an all-new adaptation featuring breathtaking sets and costumes, transporting audiences into the whimsical world of Clara’s magical adventure through the Land of Sweets. As described in the review, “With gorgeous sets, lush Victorian-era costumes, and marvelous classical dancing, the production took its place among Ohio’s best Nutcrackers, offering up a magical holiday treat for all ages.” The story, set to the iconic score by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, captured the hearts of all who attended.

This experience was not only a milestone for our dancers but also a testament to the strength of the arts community in Cleveland. Thank you to the Cleveland Ballet for this incredible opportunity and to our students, teachers, and families for making this such a memorable holiday season. Bravo to all!
